The roar of a motorcycle can signal freedom - or trouble. The Sons of Anarchy are a motorcycle club hailing from Charming California and were formed back in 1967 by nine like-minded people looking to escape the social norms of their society. The Sons of Anarchy were born out of the need for freedom and the desire to answer to no one but the club. The founding president, John Teller could never have envisioned his club being what it is today. Over the years as the club has grown and so has its desire to sheltered their small town against encroaching drug dealers, corporate developers and overzealous law officers. The club is equally determined to protect their ruthless and illegally thriving arms business.
The arms business was formed out of the necessity of the founding presidents desire to save his son Thomas from a genetic heart defect and being unable to pay for medical bills, the lucrative gun running operation was a way out. After his son recovered, John Teller began to resent his club, and looking back upon it saw that it was no longer what he originally envisioned. In 1993 he was killed in a motorcycle accident and with SAMCRO under the new reign of Clay Morrow, the Sons of Anarchy became a truly ruthless criminal organization. Clay Morrow went on to marry John's widow and John's first born son, Jackson soon came up through the ranks and became the vice-president alongside his step father. The year is now 2008 and the Sons of Anarchy are constantly grappling with a multicultural array of foes: Hispanic bikers, African-American gangbangers, white supremacists, an Asian triad, and agents of the ATF. Uneasy alliances and precarious compromises rarely work out as planned, leading to confrontations and headaches for SAMCRO. As the Sons of Anarchy continue on their path emotional bonds will be formed and friendships and family loyalties will become twisted by ambition and greed.

Wretches and Kings is a AU Sons of Anarchy RPG based off the very beginning events of season one. The AU of this RPG is the fact that Thomas Teller has not died as originally explained in the canon of the show. He is alive and well and is a patched member of the Sons of Anarchy. Nothing else from the show has carried over which allows everyone here the opportunity to create their own drama and excitement within the realm of the Redwood Originals.
