Sullivan had learned to believe that Italy wasn’t overrated. It was absolutely perfect. The lovely ladies driving Lexus and the men who thought they were more powerful than the most powerful vampire. It entertained him to even consider that concept. Walking through this city every night made him wonder even more about the human race. Sure, he shouldn’t think too deeply about how they live and how they think, but he couldn’t help it. Sullivan was one to ask questions, but never speak of them. He would never let anyone know of this, for that would be a weakness in their eyes. No weaknesses would be revealed to any other being. Even Tanya.
Well, she already knew his weakness. Right now … it was her. There was just something about her that had kept his interest for two centuries, and that infatuation continues to fill his icy veins. He was on his way to her house. He never drove anymore because he didn’t see a point in it. And he liked to play with his food along the way to wherever he was going. He would never hurt them more than was necessary, he would just scare them to the point where they begged him to die. Yes, he knew this was wrong, but right now he didn’t care.
Lately he had been bitter that he had yet to court Tanya. He had waited two centuries and has yet to kiss her. The very thought of it made him clench his teeth. What was she waiting for? What flaws could possible hold her off for that long? Tanya knew Sullivan well, and he knew her well. Standing in front of her front door now, she would know he was here. He never bothered to knock; he just patiently waited for her to come out. Sullivan has always been very respectful of Tanya, and treated her better than anything. He sat down on her porch steps and ran his hand through his thick hair; thinking, waiting, anxious.

Summer was a brilliant season. It was hot, flowers were in bloom, and everyone seemed hustled and bustled. It was good, though, because it took less eyes off of her. Tanya was irresistibly beautiful in almost every way. She had golden looks, piercing gold eyes, and very nice body. But in her mind, her personality sparkled brighter than her vampire skin. She was very sweet and kind to people of all races and ages, and even species if you counted them too. She respected everyone, and tried to find the best in everyone around her. She reflected on this as she stared out of her bedroom window in her summer home in Italy. She typically ventured back and forth every couple of weeks in the summer between Italy and Alaska. Her coven would survive without her, and they all actually enjoyed Tanya's break, since they could be all 'couply' without her feeling left out. She smiled as she knew that her coven would be enjoying themselves quite nicely at that moment.
But what she hadn't expected was to enjoy the next couple of moments in the same way. She turned her head and smelled the air, taking in the scent of familiarity. Vampire. But it wasn't the normal, 'familiar' scent of vampire in general - she knew this one. A smile crossed Tanya's pale features as she moved from her window, letting the sun move away from her skin. She went to her dresser and picked up a daisy, then placed it in her hair over her left ear. Her golden, wavy hair fell over her bare shoulders simply, covering only the top parts of her white, sleeveless top. Smiling to herself, Tanya walked out of her room and into the living room. She briefly looked in the oak-bordered mirror sitting on the wall, then continued on to the front door, grabbing a lavender scarf and glasses on the way out.
Tanya, with her scarf around her neck and sunglasses on, moved swiftly onto her front porch and grinned. "Oh, Sullivan. How nice to see you again!" she said smiling. She moved toward him and took a seat next to him on the porch steps. Tanya smiled as she turned toward him and placed her hand on his shoulder. "How have you been, dear?" she asked, looking at him lovingly. She definitely admired him, from his looks to his person. He was very intense and sweet to her, and she adored his company. ♥ T A G G E D » S U L L I V A N ♥ L Y R I C S » P A N I C ! Sullivan felt her coming. Tanya had such a light step, that it was hard for even a vampire to hear her. But Sullivan had been around her for a long time, so he knew. She came out of the front door and he turned around, smirking at her beauty. If he was allowed to, he could probably never take his eyes off of hers for the rest of his years. For the rest of immortality, but he knew that wasn’t going to happen. She wouldn’t allow it, she was too modest. Oh, Sullivan. How nice to see you again! He smiled a wide, tooth-filled smile at her. “I couldn’t resist seeing my Tanya while I was in the area.” She sat down next to him on her porch step and placed a hand on his shoulder. How have you been, dear? He grabbed her hand off of his shoulder and placed it in his, then he brought her hand up to his mouth for a soft kiss. “I’ve been as good as I can be, you know I’d be much better with you around.” His mouth smoothly turned into a flirting smirk.
Tanya knew of Sullivan’s strong feelings for her, and Sullivan knew that there was something there in Tanya. Having the ability to know her emotions helped him out greatly. Tanya was the only person that Sullivan was truly sweet to, with others he just played the game of Lust, rather than Love. With Tanya, it was almost love. Sure, he thought he was in love with her, but it wasn’t complete. She had to love him back, and she didn’t feel that strongly for him. Sullivan had recently come to terms with that, but wouldn’t give up on her.
Sullivan just wished that somehow she could compromise with him being a carnivore vampire. Even for Tanya, he wouldn’t be able to do that. He knew that he had the ability to manipulate emotions, of course, but he had never been able to control himself when it came to humans. He made sure to drink before he came here, she lived too close to too many humans for him to be able to compose himself. He then stood up from the steps and held out his hand to her. Facing her, he spoke in his fluid black velvet voice, “So how about I take you out tonight, darling?” He refused to ever use his abilities on Tanya, it would make it too easy.

His smile was so sincere. Tanya could only return it willingly. If she had been human, she would have felt tears of joy stinging her cheek. His Tanya. She wished she could have gotten used to that. But it was much more complicated. Tanya knew that her and Sullivan could have so much together, living their days side by side for all of time. She didn't think it would work, though. He had someone else chasing him...but didn't they all? Vampires were beautiful, in theory, to all humans. Any human would dare give into the appearance of one so easily that it was pathetic. And how Sullivan could use that as a weapon, as a source of food...Tanya couldn't comprehend it. She had once been in his shoes, but after finding the right mindset she changed her ways. She had been deadly, brutal, ruthless, and utterly seductive. Now, she remained a beautiful, mature, and distinguished vampire.
But she could never let go of the fact of her age. Tanya was nearing nine hundred and ninety years old as a vampire, and that was heartbreaking. Why? Because she had found no one. In her entire life, she hadn't even kissed a guy. Why was she waiting so long? She didn't want to be hurt. She wasn't looking for the perfect vampire to be with, but she didn't want someone who was wanted to longingly like Sullivan was. He had Serafina. Tanya had a feeling that Sullivan only chose her because she was the chase, because he was a tracker and he couldn't have her. Tanya was sure that once she gave into his ways, Sullivan would leave her stranded for the seductress. That would have completely broken her unbeating heart.
Tanya, in turn, tried to push people out - especially after being rejected by Edward Cullen. Even though they remained great friends, Tanya had wanted him at one time for herself. Back then she was more playful, more in tune with her seductive nature, not that she would have ever used her abilities on him. No, she wasn't like that. Tanya wanted to become as close to real and normal as she could. She wanted a guy to truly want her, love her, and protect her - not that she needed protecting. Sighing, she tried to forget it all. She wanted to forget everything that she thought, and just live in the moment with Sullivan. So she did. Tanya looked curiously at Sully as he stood, her hand in his, and asked her out. She giggled cutely, then shook her curls out of her vision. "Of course,"
she said simply, then stood in front of him. Tanya neared his face, her nose brushing his lightly. "Just don't get too attached," she teased, then squeezed his hand lightly. Tanya smiled, then nodded toward the walkway. "Shall we?" ♥ T A G G E D » S U L L I V A N ♥ L Y R I C S » P A N I C ! A T T H E D I S C O ♥ N O T E S » I / L O V E / S U L L Y ! Of course. Then he watched her every movement as her body fluidly stood in front of him. He stood up automatically with her, smoothly. Then her face got very close to his, their noses brushing. He did everything in his power not to pin her down right then and there. He wanted her. Sullivan’s top lip twitched upward at the tease, as if he was starting to growl, but resisted. There was just something so irresistible about this vampire, even if she did only eat animals. Just don’t get too attached. He wrapped his hands around her lowerback at that point, about to pull her into him, but forced himself to resist. “You know I always do, my love.” His irish accent rang lyrically through his lips. He spoke of love so lightly, for not believing in it.
She squeezed his hand. He smirked at her. Shall we? He let her lead the way. Sullivan didn’t care where they were going, as long as he was with her. But as they walked away, her energy drastically changed. Her mood swung like a pendulum, stuck at one side. He stopped suddenly and swung her gently around to face him. Tilting his head, he spoke softly to her, sweetly, ”Tanya, is everything alright? You’re not your norm.” He held both of her hands at this point, legitamitely concerned for her, even if his face acted like it was only a mere emotion. He cared for Tanya, he truly did. But something in her right now confused him. He wouldn’t manipulate her emotions either, he cared too much about them.

Tanya's mind was a sweltering wound, and Sullivan was crushing it underneath of his hand. She felt hurt. They had stopped and she now faced him. If she were human, she would have cried. What she dared not do was runaway. There was so much she was having to face, and Sullivan was one of the issues. Except, Tanya didn't see him as an issue - she saw him as a friend, a dear friend who she had even begun to feel for romantically. Tanya was scared, though. She knew he really liked her, more than a friend, and he genuinely cared about her. Since she cared about him in turn, though, she had to resort to giving into Serafina's wishes. Tanya sadly remembered their encounter.
Tanya had been walking through the forest in Forks, and Serafina approached her. Sera had been so rude as to insinuate that Tanya was breaking Sullivan's heart, which hurt her. Tanya had played right into the dark-haired woman's plan, which was to get Tanya away from Sullivan. Tanya didn't see why it was such an issue, since Sullivan obviously had a thing for Serafina. Tanya realized that the other vampire obviously had self-conscious issues for making Tanya give up her friend, but she had gotten into Tanya's mind. Tanya now could see that Sullivan was hurt by her rejection, even though that was slightly changing due to the fact that she had been imprinted on. Still, Tanya had to do the right thing and help her friend be happy.
"Sullivan...you have always been a dear friend to me. I have been informed, though, by one of your coven-mates that you are hurt by my...suggestive ways and rejection of romantic feelings. In truth, you are my best friend. At the same time, I can't stand to hurt you or be hurt because someone wants you so badly..."
she said softly, then let go of his hands. Her chin turned down, and she stared at the gravel beneath her. She bit her lower lip hard, enough for a trickle of blood to drip from the puncture. She quickly licked it off and looked up, her eyes splotted with tears. "Be happy, now. Don't worry about me, and go be with her. I shall never forget how true and precious a friend you have been to me," she said lightly, then moved closer to him. She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed his cheek. "I hope your immortal journey is full of love and happiness," she choked, then turned away from him and began to walk. ♥ T A G G E D » S U L L I V A N ♥ L Y R I C S » P A N I C ! The way Tanya spoke almost made his heart sink. Almost. He had never seen her like this. This hurt. And it was all his fault. He shouldn’t have pushed it, he should have went away when he had the chance. He never thought that it would get this serious, or at least close to serious. She really means something to him, and he knew that he meant a lot to her too. I have been informed, though, by one of your coven-mates … His emotions stopped. Serafina had come to Tanya? Come to her, to separate Sullivan from Tanya? Part of him was furious that she would ever do that, but the other part of him felt that it was for the better. He couldn’t hurt either of them anymore. Serafina would be happier, and Tanya could move on to the man that was actually meant for her. Tanya spoke softly and let go of his hands, he tried so hard to fight it. But he knew the inevitable. He had never cared for anyone more in his entire life, and they had a lot of fun. Tears pricked at her eyes. His heart lurched, and he swallowed, sighing.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him on the cheek. His embrace was much tighter, not wanting to let her go. Sullivan never spoke much in moments like this, for he never knew what to say. He hadn’t had many tender moments in his life for him to practice in, so he felt it was best just to let it sink in. Every word she spoke, she meant it. Maybe he could come back and see her when they were both settled down. See each other happy. She would like that. Tanya turned and walked back. He quickly ran to her and stopped in front of her. There were tears. How could an immortal cry? He gently grabbed her chin in his hand and kissed each one of her eyes when they closed. Kissing the tears away. “Tanya, I will always care for you. You will be happier this way, I promise you.” He kept his hand on her chin to keep their eyes stuck to each other. He whispered, “This is not goodbye, my dear, only a backwards hello.” He pushed a sweet smile onto his face and kissed her forehead. Sullivan let his lips linger, while he let go of her. Then he let her walk away; trying to let go of something he never quite had.
