.ALEC JUSTIN HUGHES.
Alec walked into the valley, his feet squashing the freshly dew covered grass. Aro had allowed him to the the castle, the city, and the continent, over here to Forks. He just wanted to survey the land, plan everything out, and be able to give the information to Aro. He was surveying for war, more or less, but it was also more peaceful here, and different, not the same as the hustle and bustle of Volterra, but it was fine to him, even though he prefered the city, quite a bit more than this, because if they lived here they would have to live near the filthy "vegetarian" vampires, the Cullens. He didn't like the Cullens, they broke the rules, or bended the rules so that they were safe.
Alec didn't want a war. He didn't really want to loose any of the Volturi force, it would take away the fierceness of the Volturi if they lost, and it would weaken them, even though he never did really, honestly doubt the Volturi. He wouldn't be able to think before he was killed, or reasoned with, because when Aro heard it, well, Alec wasn't sure what he would do, either, and he wasn't exactly sure he wanted to find out, either.
Alec stepped forward and began walking, slowly towards the center of the field, he sniffed carefully, not smelling any humans, or anything that had really been here for days. He didn't really need to hunt right now, but he could use it, if the opportunity could, or would present itself. His ruby red eyes blinked slowly, scanning the dark trees, the sun slowly shinging down on him, as he backed towards the trees, a slight disco ball until he entered the shade, still paying attention, maybe there would be some exctiement and a Cullen would show up. Who knew.

It was cold. That was the first thought that crossed the mind of eighteen year old Jillian, only known as Aubree, from the moment she stepped outside. Perhaps it had not been a genius idea to where shorts this late in the year, knowing that it was cool and that the possibility of rain was always a high one. If not rain, then clouds. Though today it seemed like it wanted to be different, remnants of thin sunlight escaped from the sky on the day. Odd. She thought little of it though, merely tucking back a few loose strands of her vibrant hair before heading in the direction of the forests.
The thing that made her hate, detest Forks however was not the abnormally wet whether. It was all of the spirits of the dead that seemed to haunt the place, it was like they had strengthened and caused her to be able to see more and more of them. It bothered her. She didn't like her power as is, she considered it a curse. Who wanted to see the dead? She had watched her mother die and now saw her mother spirit, she wanted the death behind her. Constantly she saw her mother, yet she refused to talk to her. It confused her entirely and she had no idea what to think about it. What was there to think about it? Her mother hadn't wanted her from the beginning, it was technically her father's fault. The same father that she had watched kill her mother. The step-father was the closest thing she had had to a parent, but the brother that came with it did not make it worth it.
That on her mind wasn't a happy thing, and Aubree shook her head as if to clear it. She didn't have her phone or a watch and had left early in the morning, leaving her to have no idea what time it was and she hardly knew her way back either. Probably not the world's best combination. She tended to do silly things like that, that was sometimes why she disappeared for days. It took her a while to get back.
Aubree had no idea that she wasn't alone once she reached a small clearing, and instead sat down and stared at the ground before looking around. The emerald orbs placed on her pale face finally did flicker, only to land on a boy that looked a couple of years younger than her. He was incredibly attractive looking, yet something told her to stay away. Her mouth opened as if she was about to greet him, but closed as she knew no words were escaping.

.ALEC JUSTIN HUGHES.
Alec was Aro's prized jewel. Atleast one of them, his siter was the other one. He had much more. . . . control over when he fed, but he usually just ate when the burn returned, but he could atleast stop himself from feeding, before a bite. That's what four hundred years of vampire life taught you. But fourteen years of human life only taught you how cruel humans could be, and how rough and different human life was. He didn't like to remember the townsfolk, his own parents! Trying to burn him and his sister at the stake! It was just plane crazy.
Alec's eyes blinked slowly as he inhaled, and he caught the sound of a beating heart, he almost hissed, but he held it back, his red eyes glowing, and a tinge of burn, but nothing. He smiled slightly, not at the girl with the orange hair, but his ability to stop his hunt, which might be continued later. Who knew? Alec pressed his hands into the pockets of the jacket he always wore, even sometimes out of Aros reigning, he didn't mind, he liked it.
Alec slowly stepped forward, at a human's pace, he hated humans for one thing, just their speed, just to blend in a vampire couldn't run, no, they had to put one foot in front of the other, or they would be noticed. Alec sped up though, only blurring slightly before he came to a halt near the girl with the orange colored hair. He smiled slightly, "Hello, there." He said in his fairly deep, smooth, perfect voice, as his eyes watched her, as he blinked slowly.

Something about him wasn't right. That much was, well, rather obvious. He moved too fast for her to feel comfortable around him and Aubree drew her legs a little closer, a little tighter. She felt uncomfortable automatically even when he stopped. He seemed to be too pale, paler than her - the girl who had lived in the Olympic Peninsula her whole life and rarely saw sun. Another quirk that caught her piercing eyes was that he seemed to be flawless, not a single bump or mark that she could see. Which was odd. Her eyebrows furrowed together as she stared at him, trying to figure out what was making him so different, but she was too scared to meet his eye.
Feeling a presence, the channel very quickly stood up, wobbling slightly as she did so. Aubree looked around quickly, her eyes landing on the ghostly form behind the boy, on his right. She stared right past him at the lost soul and frowned slightly. The spirit looked as if she could be in her thirties and was tear stained completely, causing the redhead girl to bite down on her lower lip slightly before speaking. "Who are you?" Her voice was much gentler than she used with humans, ghosts were something she knew how to deal with. No answer escaped from the ghost though, leaving her lost. "How did you die?" She tried a new question, only for the ghost to break down in tears again. Perhaps it was a new ghost, who didn't even realize it was dead. Those were the hardest to deal with.
It disappeared out of her own site to who knows where, and Aubree ran a hand through her hair, causing her bangs to pop up slightly. Damn. A soft sigh escaped from her lips before she remembered that the boy (or was man more appropriate?) had spoken to her. She wasn't sure how to explain exactly who or what she was just talking to, either. "Uh, hi..." She said shyly, blushing softly as she did so. She wasn't much of a social person, you could say, if that was not obvious from the fact that she was averting her eyes. A habit of hers. She placed her hands in the back of her shorts pockets, not sure exactly what to do.

.ALEC JUSTIN HUGHES.
Alec watched her steadily. Maybe she'd be like one of those weird humans and try to stab him? He doubted it, she looked too, well, she didn't look that tense. But who knew, maybe humans had developed enough to hide their intentions! Again, he doubted that. Alec watched as she studyed him, watching her eyebrows wrinkle slightly, he smirked, he brain was probably in overload mode trying to figure out, what he was. His red irises sparkled slightly, as he thought about Aro, if she found out. It wouldn't be good if he had to change, or kill her here. That wouldn't like that. He could imagine it now, a war, between him and the Cullens, and he didn't really want that.
He watched the girl abruptly stand up and look to his side, he glanced there and saw nothing, rolling his red eyes slightly, and returning his eyes to her, surprised when the girl said "Who are you?" Alec's mind began spinning for an answer, but he, in his head, breathed in a deep breath, "How did you die?" That was the question that surprised him, he wasn't dead, I mean, some people might think that, but that would be of themself, that he was an angel. That was, until he caused them more pain than they ever imagined. He hadn't felt pain, much, even since he was burned, slightly, and changed into a vampire.
Alec had to consider the idea that she was seeing things, it was just the only slight thing that made sense. He shrugged it of and watched as she ran a hand through her hair, "Uh, hi..." Alec smirked slightly, holding out his pale had, "I'm, Alec he said slowly, he still felt like he was stepping on pins as he spoke, not quite sure what to say, and what not to say. He was still technically a kid, or young teenager, even if he was over four hundred years old, truelly, and would look that way, if he could age. He saw her blush, and it still took a majority of his self control to hold back his vampire thirst. He watched her avery her eyes, and he smiled slightly, his eyes still sparkling.

Strange. Most ghosts wanted help immediately and responded to quickly, sometimes making it difficult for the redhead to understand yet that one was silent other than the weeping. The feel of spirits was particularly strong here, stronger than usual. Something about this area or perhaps even the male in front of her was attracting ghosts. It took a lot of mental strength to have to deal with them, bringing back her own haunting of death in family and just terrible memories overall came with thinking of her family. The family that nearly was, if she hadn't begged her parents on her knees.
When he introduced herself, she glanced at his hand and hesitantly shook it, though shivered while doing so. He was freezing, yet he looked like he was dressed more warmly than she was. How strange of a thing that was. "I'm A-Aubree." Something about his presence made her nervous and put her on edge, she wasn't sure what. Finally getting up the nerve to look him in the eye she did exactly so, and her breath caught in her throat. His eyes... were red. That made so since, that was impossible! "What's wrong with your eyes?" She asked bluntly without even thinking before doing so. She wanted to run, to get away from him, but didn't know which direction to go and had no idea which way she needed to take to get home.
Aubree rocked back onto her heels, not sure what she was supposed to do now. The spirits around her were growing stronger, soon enough another one would be appearing. How was she supposed to explain to him that she wasn't talking to him and a spirit? No one knew she saw dead people, she didn't want to be taken to a mental facility. Ghosts didn't show up when she was in public, in other words at school, only in the forests and such. Which put her in an entirely knew position, she hadn't had to go through this with anyone thank the heavens. But she couldn't tell him. Heck, she didn't even know if he was going to ask.

.ALEC JUSTIN HUGHES.
Alec smiled slightly as she shook his hand, her hand was much warmer than his, and he could feel the pulse, just below her skin, the vampire in him was going mad, but he kept a civilized human face on. He didn't want to push his vampire over the edge, but he didn't exactly want to feed off her either, it sort of was an uneasy truce between his vampire side and his human side, whatever was left of it, anyway, after almost four hundred years of being a vampire, the human part sort of melted away, unless you used it, of course.
Alec watched uneasily as the girl shivered when she took his hand, he could have shivered too, because her temerature was atleast a good ten to twenty deagrees higher than his. He should have remember to wear gloves. But when he thought of coming here, he hadn't consdered running into any humans. "I'm A-Aubree." The girl, Aubree, pulled him from his thoughts as she seemed to stumble through her sentence. He watched her cautiously still, not wanting to give anything away that he was anything but human, but he was already loosing at that, he could tell.
"What's wrong with your eyes?" Alec's eyes widened at her question, he had been showing too much vampire. He should've worn contacts. "Uhh. My mother's parents, and their parents beofre them had grey eyes, and they began turning red, from who knows what, and I just ended up with the red eyes." He said, knowing heshouldn't have hesitated as he spoke. That would give away something, he wasn't sure what, but he had to hope she wouldn't pick it up.
He watched as she rocked back on her heels, a new question forming in his mind, "What's a human doing all the way out here?" Alec dredded the words as soon as he got them out of his mouth. He had just given it away. He had pointed a finger and said she was human. He hadn't siad "fellow human", or "what are you doing out here?" No, he had said it like she was the only human here. He had just been doomed.

A very strange story to tell, but the fact that he hesitated didn't bother her. Aubree just presumed that he was embarrassed that she had asked so bluntly and she hadn't really meant to come across as rude or anything like that, it just happened no accident sometimes and she forgot her manners. It wasn't a difficult thing to do. But this didn't seem like something that would be genetic, she would have guessed it was just an eye pigment disorder or colored contacts. That would have been much more reasonable and believable for that matter. What he said just didn't make sense. But she would take it as an acceptable excuse for the moment being, even if he was acting rather odd.
Furrowed eyebrows appeared once more at his statement. A human? Surely he was human too... that seemed like such an odd way of forming the question. The fact that he pointed at her made her more curious too. "A human...? Surely you're human too...?" What else could it be? Was she not human? Sure, she saw the dead but she still assumed that she was at least considered human. She had a heartbeat, she had emotions and a brain, so that meant she was human, she hoped at least. Yes, she was a little different. She had gone through a lot and always had an aura of death around her because of what she saw, but that was nothing too bad. It wasn't her fault that she saw the dead. She had known from a very early age that she saw dead people. "I mean, you look a little different but everyone has their quirks, that doesn't mean you're not human." She added on before he had the chance to answer.
While waiting for an answer and listening with half an ear, Aubree closed her piercing eyes for a moment, trying to clear her thoughts. How would she deal with this ghost? If it didn't want help it wouldn't have appeared, but it wouldn't talk to her. When she re-opened her eyes she saw it again and sighed softly, almost too soft for her own ears. Stepping around Alec she held out her hand toward the ghost, whispering to it. "How can I help you? You need to talk to me so I can cross you over." Why not sound like a psychopath? This boy sounded pretty weird himself.

.ALEC JUSTIN HUGHES.
Alec was releaved, more or less, that she didn't pay any attention when he struggled for words before he began explaining about his red eyes, and that she didn't really even question it, either that or she wasn't really paying any attention to him, but Alec doubted that one too. Maybe she just didn't feel like questioning his story. Alec still was curious, if he just happened to blurt out that he was a vampire, how she would react, and how Aro would react if he ever found out that Alec had given out the vampire secret, especially to the humans. They might come back after her.
"A human...? Surely you're human too...?" Alec was surprised that she wasn't asking any question yet, and pointing her fingers at him, or trying to guess what he was. He knew he didn't have a heartbeat. He had figured that out way back when, the night his transformation ended, and his heart stopped beating. "I mean, you look a little different but everyone has their quirks, that doesn't mean you're not human." Alec shrugged slightly, he knew he had his quirks, they differed from human quirks.
Alec turned so when Aubree walked around him, he kept her in sight, "Well yeah, one of those quirks is not having a pulse." He said sarcastically, and noticed his fault, that could be a bad thing, but then again, maybe not, "How can I help you? You need to talk to me so I can cross you over." Alec was confused at first, but at this point, he knew she wasn't talking to him, he finally built up his courage and asked, "Ok, what are you talking to? And I know it's not yourself, that you're talking to. But don't worry, we all have secrets." He said, not sure where all this friendly came from, probably just because he oured out a majority of his secret.

Glancing over at him before speaking to the ghost, Aubree raised an eyebrow. "Everyone has a pulse. Otherwise you don't have a heartbeat, don't be ignorant. It might be faint but that doesn't mean you don't have one." She spoke like it was the most obvious thing in the world, rolling her eyes as she looked at him. She knew her eyes were her most powerful feature, they often got people to tell her the truth if she had decided to talk to them. hich she would admit she didn't do that a lot, she much better liked being quite. It saved all of that drama that went on, even though she had been through a lot of drama her life.
Watching the spirit carefully it stopped sobbing and she finally got a good look at her face. Fairly young woman, perhaps in her twenties. Her clothing was what Aubree found odd, it seemed very old-fashioned. Like she had been dead for a while. It reached out toward her hand and clasped it, her own squeezing the ghost's gently. It was a very hard thing to notice, most people would think it was a breeze. Her hand was curled in an odd position to anyone who couldn't see the ghost, and eyes sympathetic. "Talk to me... I can help you," She said once again, trying to get her to talk. 'Where am I? Why are you the only you who can see me?'
This was the hardest kind of ghost to deal with, it was obvious to Aubree that she had no idea that she was even dead and looked very confused. Glancing over at Alec as he spoke, a small frown appeared on her features. She figured he'd ask sooner or later. Deciding to ignore him for the moment, she turned back to the ghost. "What's the last thing you remember?" She asked gently. 'There was a loud noise... It sounded like a pan hit the floor. I felt pain in my chest, that's it.' She watched the ghost grab her chest, clutching it tightly. She knew exactly what was about to happen, the ghost was about to show her how she died. She watched.
Collasping onto her bottom once it was over, Aubree took in a deep breath. Her own chest hurt at the moment, and she placed her hand over her heart. Damn. It usually wasn't that physical feeling. She glanced to where the ghost was to see them gone. Looking up at Alec, she sighed before deciding to explain. "I don't know who she was that I was talking to, she didn't tell me her name. Some secrets are meant to be kept, but I suppose there are others like me... somewhere." She hesitated, deciding whether or not to tell. "I see dead people."

.ALEC JUSTIN HUGHES.
Alec smiled slightly as Aubree spoke, flashing his dangerous, perfectly white teeth, "Everyone has a pulse. Otherwise you don't have a heartbeat, don't be ignorant. It might be faint but that doesn't mean you don't have one." Alec chuckled slightly, his laugh dark, but perfect still. "Fine then, if you're so sure I have a pulse, then try to find it." He said sarcastically, pulling up his jacket to reveal a pale wrist. He wondered how she would react to knowing that he didn't have a pulse. He couldn't really be quite sure, exactly, he couldn't see the future, even though he was a vampire and all.
"Talk to me... I can help you," He watched her hand squeeze something, probably an invisible hand, even though Alec could never be sure, unless he asked her, and he didn't feel like asking her. He watched as she glanced at him before speaking to the form in front of her, "What's the last thing you remember?" He watched her, but he didn't quite follow the conversation that she was having.
Alec watched as she fell down, not sure whether to help her or not, after all, he hand been a vampire for about four hundred years, he observed as she placed her hand over her heart and explained to him, "I don't know who she was that I was talking to, she didn't tell me her name. Some secrets are meant to be kept, but I suppose there are others like me... somewhere." Alec nodded slightly as she continued, "I see dead people." Alec nodded slightly, "My sister and me were meant to be burned at the stake, somewhere, sometime back in 1663" He said, not sure if her should have said that.

1663. That was impossible. That was too long ago for him to still be alive. Unless... he wasn't. But he didn't appear to be dull enough to be an earth bound spirit, especially if he had died in that year. He'd be a faded, blue-gray at this point. He looked just as alive as Aubree, even if he was on the pale side of things but then again so was she. He felt too solid though, when she had shook his hand. He was about the right temperature to be a soul however, which was causing her to become very confused. Once again, her eyebrows furrowed as she tried to figure out what he was.
Turning back around to face him, Aubree studied him closely. What set him off that he was so different from here, from anyone normal? That was the question she could not put a decent answer to. Was he dead? She took a step forward closer to him, placing the tips of her finger on his cheek. Definitely cold enough to be a ghost, but his skin was too hard and smooth to be one. It made no sense, almost everything about him said ghost and almost everything about him said something else. Withdrawing her hand back to her side, her mouth opened as if she was going to speak yet no words came out. Who was this boy, really? And what exactly was he, because he surely didn't seem like a human and couldn't be a ghost?
"What are you?" Aubree finally asked, giving up on all hopes that she might be be able to actually figure it out for herself. She nibbled lightly on her bottom lip as she figured out what other possibilities there could possibly be, though wasn't coming up with some. Which meant she was just going to have to be patient and hope that the answer made sense with what she was thinking.

.ALEC JUSTIN HUGHES.
Alec wasn't sure if he had spoken, just said that he had been, attemptedly, born at the stake. He wasn't sure if this would turn out to being a good thing. He watched her face as Aubree turned to face him, he could see confusion, but he wasn't sure why she hadn't asked yet, what he was. Alec froze as Aubree took a step towards him, an he also stopped his breathing as she touched his cheek, stepping back a little to breath.
He continued to watch her study him, still trying to figure out exactly what he was, he doubted that she would think to werewolves, maybe just a ghost. But vampires were too, fantasy in her light, he had to guess, not very real, something in cooks and legends. Now he knew her reaction, and he still wasn't sure he was, in fact, meant to tell her. He wasn't positive.
Alec knew that, him telling her, could put her life on the line, he wasn't sure he cared that much, or atleast why, but he would try to help he, if they wanted to kill her, that was. "What are you?"" He knew the question would come up, eventually, and he knew he would have to answer it, but he still wasn't sure how. He guessed he would just have to give it a go, and hope for the best. "Well , uh, um, I'm a Vampire." An immortal, he added in his mind, not sure if he should tell her that little part.
He wasn't sure that she would think he was lieing, just trying to get around the truth. He would try to help her make sense of it, maybe, maybe by feding off a disgusting rabbit, or deer. He wouldn't like it, but if it helped, it helped, and he guessed he would just have to will himself into it, if he had to.

Every part of Aubree's muscles froze. Vampire. Her senses screamed to run but her logical side laughed - they weren't real! But he was acting so different than anyone... normal she had ever met it almost did make sense. But they were just myths, legends that you told people to scare the crap out of them. Nothing more than that, right? But then again she had never been sure what to believe for a while now, most people didn't see dead people and help them cross over constantly. But it would explain the fact that ghosts seemed to thrive off of him.
But the legends she had heard told her so and yet otherwise. Red eyes, pale and ice cold skin were correct. Inhumanely beautiful was also correct. But they were supposed to sleep during the day in a coffin and burn in the day light, surely to get this far in the woods he would have crossed daylight. She didn't have garlic or a cross on and couldn't test anything like that, and she was pretty sure a normal piece of wood wasn't going to count as a stake. That left her unguarded and vulnerable, almost. Except she was unsure whether or not to be afraid, he hadn't exactly threatened her and he didn't look too threatening, other than the red eyes going on. That honestly did scare her, but he looked so young. Weren't vampires supposed to be all old and wrinkly with the really long, yellow nails? Weren't they supposed to have fangs? Yes, his teeth were perfectly straight and did look dangerous, but she didn't see any fangs.
"You aren't... going to hurt me, are you?" Aubree asked hesitantly, pulling her jacket around her tighter as if it could protect her heart and neck. She had been hurt both physically and mentally in the past, then again who really hadn't, but that didn't mean she enjoyed it. She hated it, as did most sane, non-suicidal people. Something told her to run off screaming, but another part of her said that it was useless. For now she would listen to the latter.

.ALEC JUSTIN HUGHES.
Alec knew that he should not have told Aubree about him being a vampire, this was his first real chance to be "normal" or as close to normal as he ever could have been. He had blown in too. The one chance he had somehow managed to get to act like a normal, extremely pale, red eyed human. But he didn't really want to blend in, not at this second, he wanted to explain everything, or at least try to, not to feed off her, or attack her, maybe he would even protect her, if the Volturi came after her, that was.
Alec watched all of her reactions, he could feel the obvious fear that evaporated off of her. "You aren't... going to hurt me, are you?" Alec sighed slightly, taking a step slightly closer, "Aubree, I promise, I won't hurt you. I haven't yet and I won't." He said gently, in his smooth, perfect voice. "I've been this way for closer to four hundred years, I know how to control myself. Please trust me." He said truthfully. He had lasted his long with out beginning to hunt her, he knew he would be fine.
He watched as she pulled he jacket tighter around her. Alec carefully pulled his jacket off to reveal a t-shirt. Alec backed away slowly, into the sun, where he began sparkling in the slight Forks sun, like a human disco ball. "Garlic, stakes, even crosses don't hurt me. I was nearly burned at the stake because they thought me and my sister were witches, but we weired saved, when we were turned into vampires. It's a fairly painful process." He said slowly, stepping out of the sun and pulling on his jacket again.
