centuries ago the dakelh island was discovered by roaming sailors. the native indians, the dakelh tribe, were found to be living here. civilised man soon declared the island a nature reserve, and then took over. they didn't ruin the island, but to keep money coming in they allowed the rich and wealthy to come, stay, and see the wild animals in their natural habitats. unfortunately there was only one way to get to the island. no one could get in by air or sea - there was some sort of unknown interferance that made it impossible. however during the freezing cold winter months an ice bridge is formed from the island to the mainland. that was how the humans came. they assumed the volcano on the island was dormant, but years later the volcano errupted and all humans fleed the island. humans have never been back. not even for their beloved dogs which were left abandoned on the island. now the dogs have become feral, and are living their lives as wild as their ansestors.
