Waking up to the fighting of cats outside wasn’t exactly what June had wanted to wake up to. But the pictures on her ceiling of her and Adam and Quinn reminded her of the life she had. A life that she had always wanted. Sure, it wasn’t perfect. But it was something to look forward to each and every day. And today she wanted to go out and meet new people. Something told her that she was going to be successful with this, someone special. When she got that feeling, she was normally right. But she would never tell people about that. So she hopped out of bed and into the shower.
Once she got out she decided that she wanted to look cute, but comfy. So she picked her beachy summer dress. It had a million mismatching patterns and colors, but that was the way she liked it. June had guts, and a lot of people wouldn’t guess that. She pulled her hair up in a low pony tail and picked up her purse. It was a shoulder bag, nothing special.
She locked her door on the way out and decided to just walk the streets. The sidewalk had a reflection that killed her eyes, so she pulled on her purple framed aviators. Adam had gotten her those for her birthday last year, so she wore them almost every day. While she walked along the city sidewalks, she watched the people. She loved people watching, it was a hobby of hers. Nothing creepy, just fun. She sat on her favorite bench across from the famous Fork’s Bakery. She loved that place, but she would have to resist. The most interesting people would go in there; brides, little kids, and the men searching to impress their fiancée with something special. She pulled out her book, Charlie St. Clould and acted like she was reading. Watching the people, it would never get old to June.

There was a series of buzzing noises that repeated themselves at a constant rate. Riley rolled over and hit the button on his alarm clock to stop it. He let his hand slip off the machine as he lay face down in his pillow for a moment. Time to get up. Pushing himself up like he was trying to do push-ups on his bed, he turned and sat himself down with his feet hanging over the side of the bed. He gave an annoyed sigh and ran a hand through his messy hair before dragging himself onto his feet and toward the bathroom to take a shower. Riley didn't mind going to work but he didn't enjoy waking up before 9 AM.
He ran a quick dab of gel through his hair with his finger to style it the way he always did, held back on body spray -- wouldn't couldn't have strong smelling clone or perfume at the work place, he wasn't taking his chances on that -- and walked back into his room to get dressed. Lately he hadn't been getting many shifts at work but he need all the shifts he could get, he needed the money. Throwing on the black short-sleeved shirt he had to wear for work and throwing the rest of his uniform into his over the shoulder dark brown bag, Riley his small apartment and started to walk. Throwing on his sunglasses, he set off; work wasn't far. Working at a bakery wasn't the most glamorous thing nor the most manly thing, but again, he needed the money.
After a few minutes, he turned the corner and took off his sunglasses as he was only a few steps away from work. Quickly looking around before reaching the door, his eye caught a girl sitting across the road on a park bench reading. There was something about her. But there was no time for that now, he had to go to work! Riley walked into the store and quickly made his way to the locker room. After checking in, he threw on the unfortunately pink apron he had to wear and clipped on his name tag, which was at least black on white.
"Hey, Marcella." Riley greeted his co-worker as he went to relieve the girl at the first cash register. "Morning Riley! How are you, darling?" The sweet elderly lady greeted him back with a smile. "I'm alive, can't ask for more." He laughed before turning to start helping the costumers.

There really wasn’t many interesting people today. Just the average families and middle-aged men and women walking the streets to work. June had a job, but she wasn’t there very often. It was basically a volunteer job where she got paid when she came in. It was the best job she could ever ask for. The hours she wanted, and good pay of 10 dollars an hour. Perfection.
Speaking of perfection; June caught a cute guy coming down the sidewalk toward the bakery. There was some weird aura around him, a very good one. He was definitely different than the average guy June’s age. She watched him from her book and suddenly locked eyes with him. Her heart skipped a beat. Dang, he was cute. He stared long enough to show her he was looking at her, but not long enough to be creepy. She couldn’t help but smile after he was done; the beautiful smile of June Evangeline.
She closed her book and put it in her “purse”. Bag was more like it. Looking both ways she crossed the road to the bakery. She had to go say hi to this kid, in one way or another. Her thoughts were quickly interrupted when a fast car screeched to a stop. Her hand flew out as she ran to safety. It kept beeping and the guy was yelling at her. I’m sorry, I’m sorry!
[/i] She never fought with people, so she moved on and purposely ignored the names he was calling her. Pulling her loose hair behind her ear she walked into the bakery. There he was. A pink apron? She would think that he would at least buy a black one or something. Smiling cutely, she walked to the side and looked at the menu above him. Her smile faded, trying not to act like all of her attention was on him. She had some serious decisions in front of her. June took her desert very seriously, while laughing on the inside. m u s i c ? ![/i] stop and stare; onerepublic. l o c a t i o n ? ![/i] forks o u t f i t ? ! in picture <3 [/blockquote][/blockquote][/color]

"Here you go, enjoy." He gave a middle-aged man a box full of baked goods and his recipt. It wasn't a bad job. Thankfully he didn't actually cook the food, Riley was a horrible cook. Working cash and pakaging was easy enough for him to handle. He took the recipt copy and slid it into the register before closing it. "Can I help who's next?" He called out before looking up to see who was next. "Hi, welcome to-" He stopped when he looked up and saw her. The girl from across the road. He had to say or do something. He was just standing there looking like a complete idiot with his mouth open. "Er, how can i help you?" Riley managed to say, finally, giving a smile chuckle.
Great! He looked like a total idiot infront of her. Now she would know he had noticed her earlier... STUPID! This never happened, usually. He was much smoother. Usually.

There wasn’t really anything on the menu that June was craving at the moment. It’s not like she was paying any real attention to the menu anyways. There was just something about this guy that really kept her attention. She didn’t know if it had to do with how attractive he was, or if it was the pink apron that kept her attention. But whatever it was, it did a good job at keeping her A.D.D. mind on him. Can I help who’s next? June looked around behind her to make sure that there wasn’t anyone else in line around her. Guess that’s me.
[/i] She said to herself, mainly. Hi, welcome to- What? Was there something on her face that made him look at her like that. Her eyebrows came together and then she looked around again, making sure that he was giving her that look. And to June’s luck, he was. What was it? She had never seen that look in her life, but it’s not like she was going to ask him about it. Er, how can I help you? Then he laughed. That eased the tension a little. She couldn’t help but laugh back at him. He would be able to tell that she was a little hesitant to have him serve her, but then a huge smile filled her face. A casual one. Well, Riley,[/i] She gestured to his name tag so he didn’t get freaked out. What would you recommend? I’m kind of craving a sweet-and-just-enough-to-feel-like-it’s-too-many-calories taste.[/i] June never held back when it came to food. Everyone ate, and her metabolism kept her skinny, no matter what crazy thing she decided to eat. She let him take it in, almost to let herself calm down from this. Why did he make her nervous? The only person that ever made her nervous was Adam until she figured out he was just her best friend. That was a good joke that he never let her live down. June hoped that this guy, Riley, could take a healthy joke. If not, he wasn’t made for her. She kept her smile, but it transformed smoothly into a smirk as she leaned on her hands against the counter. m u s i c ? ![/i] all the right moves; onerepublic. l o c a t i o n ? ![/i] forks o u t f i t ? ! in picture <3 [/blockquote][/blockquote][/color]

Keeping his cool -- once he found it -- Riley considered her specific request. It took him a few seconds to think of what could suit that criteria before he had it. "I got just the thing." He said with a smile on his face before moving to the side and walking behind the display windows. He reached in and took out a tray of fresh pasteries before returning to the girl. He pout down the tray before looking back up at her. She was something, that was for sure.
"Double Chocolate Croissants. White and milk chocolate baked in our moist butter croissants and covered in powdered sugar." He discribed what he had on the tray. "How's that sound?" Riley grinned at her. "Did you want to try it first or do you want to take my word for it?" He secretly hoped that she would want to try it.

She loved the color of his eyes. A deep brown. June wasn’t one to hover over the color of someone’s eyes, but his were different. There was a depth to them that she had never quite seen before. She blinked a couple of times and looked away after she caught herself staring. Now she was a little embarrassed. What’re you doing, June? She had to focus here, she had to attempt to figure him out a little. Just a little.
I got just the thing. She smiled a little and lifted herself off of the counter, digging around for her wallet. It took her a little while to dig through this black hole of a handbag, but she had managed to find it before he got back. She kept her eyes on the prize; the double chocolate croissants. The exact thing she always ordered when she came in here. That was weird. Double Chocolate Croissants. White and milk chocolate baked in our moist butter croissants and covered in powdered sugar. June was a sucker for powdered sugar. How’s that sound? He grinned a smile that made her naturally smile back. A wide beautiful smile. Did you want to try it first or do you want to take my word for it? She wasn’t gonna lie. June couldn’t help but laugh a little, Actually, I get these every time I come in here. They’re perfection, to say the least.
[/i] She laughed again and smiled her smile. So, what do I owe you?[/i] She hoped he would say, a date or a night with him, but she doubted that he was actually interested in her as much as she was into him. m u s i c ? ![/i] all the right moves; onerepublic. l o c a t i o n ? ![/i] forks o u t f i t ? ! in picture <3 [/blockquote][/blockquote][/color]

Riley slightly raised his eyebrow. "You practically don't need me here to tell you wants good, then, huh?" Of course he wasn't being serious. He needed to be there cause he needed the money. Besides his manditory company uniform plain bright pink apron, he really enjoyed his job. The people he worked with were little old ladies, young trainees, parents and the occasional schoolmate, but they were all really nice. It felt like a family. Riley reached behind him without looking away from the girl before him, grabbed a box and placed it on the counter next to the tray of croissants, ready to fill it up with as many as she wanted.
"What do I owe you?" An odd question to ask when she had yet to tell him how many she wanted but Riley cause see how this was going... at least he hoped he knew what was going on. He leaned against the count with his hands on it. "Your name, your number and your company this evening?" He went out on a limb, not really his regular aproach to asking girls out but it seemed like this was the perfect situation for that.

You practically don’t need me here to tell you what’s good, then, huh? June smiled and ran her hand through her hair. Well, the hair that was out of her ponytail, and it gracefully fell back down upon her shoulders. This is what she did when she was nervous, he was actually making her nervous! Her hair never stayed up very long. June was a wild one at heart, and she felt that keeping her hair up was telling people that she was tame. But she would fight it and keep it up, she was in a food store.
Then her eyes watched him as he leaned against the counter. At this point she could tell that he was very physically fit, the way the muscles in his arms moved. She couldn’t help but smirk at that, and her eyes then pinned to his without hesitation. Your name, your number and your company this evening? Dang, well that was blunt. At least June knew now that she wasn’t as crazy as she thought. Maybe this guy was just as interested in her as she was in him. She leaned against the counter with him, her hair falling freely around her face as she finally took it out of her ponytail. Her face was close to his, she did this on purpose. I’m June. I’ll give you my number if tonight’s fun, you’ll have to prove to me that you should get it. She had to show that she was confident and that she wasn’t the type for a one night stand. She easily pushed herself off of the counter and walked toward the door, turning around she ran her hand through her hair one more time. What time’s your shift end? She had a cute smile on her face. Nothing seductive or out of the ordinary, something simply, cute.

This wasn't about the food anymore. She probably didn't even want anything in the first place. Fine by him. She pulled her hair out of a ponytail and let it all fall freely around her face, the few strand that she kept pushing back before were now lost in the infinate waves of gold. If Riley had found her pretty before she was down right goregous now. She leaned over the counter, getting really close to his face. His heart raced when she stopped.
June.
Riley smiled a little at her name but it became a smirk as she went on. She was playing along. He gave a small chuckle as she leaned away and started to walk to the door. "Two thirty." He told her before she left. Of course, for the rest of the shift he was either getting in trouble about what had happened with the elderly ladies or being teased by his friend, in a non-bully way. He didn't care; June was all he was thinking about.

Two-thirty! She smiled and walked out of the bakery. She hadn’t even thought to remember that she didn’t buy anything in there. Now it would be obvious that she was just going in there because of him. Maybe he didn’t care, maybe he wanted her too. Who cared. He had her number, and she was going to spend this night with a gorgeous guy. And to top it off, he was interested in her too. Well, she made the move for something to happen, but he followed through with it.
The moment she was out of the bakery and out of his sight, she started doing a goofy little dance. A couple walked by her and started laughing, she laughed along with them. But then she stopped and spoke to herself, June, get ahold of yourself. She didn’t even take herself seriously, so she laughed again. Walking around a little more she didn’t hesitate to make noise. WOO!
[/i] Her voice was loud and more people turned around to look. She didn’t care. She was confident. Once she was finished with her celebration she found out it was already two thirty. Crap. Did he see? Was he out here already? Oh goodness, did he see her dance and yell? Crap crap crap. She stopped walking and hesitantly looked over her shoulder as she ran her hands through her hair. She hoped and prayed he didn’t see. Then he would know that she wasn’t experienced with relationships, he wouldn’t like her anymore, would he? m u s i c ? ![/i] hey soul sister! l o c a t i o n ? ![/i] forks o u t f i t ? ! in picture <3 [/blockquote][/blockquote][/color]
