Salem, Massachusetts has always been known for one thing: witches. Of course, being the twenty-first century, the rumor that witches inhabit the town has become a preposterous idea. The idea of witchcraft being practiced anywhere near the small Massachusetts town is only shared as a bedtime story, a legend never forgotten but no longer believed.
Near the town of Salem lies a large private academy. Hidden behind the shadows of the forests, the towering, castle-like structure is the ultimate educational institute in all of Salem. However, nearly no one in the town itself is ever granted admittance. Known for being one of the most difficult school systems to get into, Salem is exclusive and incredibly secretive. The citizens of the town know hardly anything about the inside of the beautiful castle that looks slightly out of place in the Massachusetts landscape. No one comes around, due to an eerie feeling they get from simply being within the grounds. Therefore, Salem Academy is almost completely left alone by the citizens of Salem, as forgotten as the idea of witches in the small town.
Across the ocean, there is an academy quite similar to Salem. In fact, it is titled Hogwarts. In other parts of the world, there are counterpart schools that are equivalent to Salem. Unknown to the citizens in town, Salem Academy is the only American school of real life witchcraft. Known for being the competitor to Hogwarts in England, Salem Academy is simply titled a private institution that only the best students can get into. What most are unaware of is the fact that the students that are enrolled in the school are unique and special. They belong to the wizarding world.
Years ago, a wizard by the name of Voldemort threatened all of the wizarding community. Although he was mostly at large in Europe, his threats managed to travel to the wizarding poplation in America. However, Harry Potter came along and put a stop to the darkness of the wizarding world. Since then all is well, especially at Salem. The American school is thriving. Becoming larger with each passing class, Salem is creating some of the world's finest young witches and wizards. The students read only about the horrors of Voldemort and the bravery of Harry Potter in their history books. Peace can only be kept for so long, though. Perhaps this time Salem Academy will be the wizarding school that brings a new era of darkness.
