In the last 150 years vampires and werewolves have turned from malevolent beasts of the night into romanticized, emotional beings. The days of horrible demons are long gone, shoved aside to make room for the thinking and feeling creatures of Hollywood today. Or maybe that’s just what you think. Maybe, all those devilish creatures still exist in all their awful glory and you’re just completely oblivious. After all, ignorance is bliss.
But you probably know more than you think. I mean, everyone knows that vampires and werewolves have always hated each other. They’ve been bickering since the day they left hell and joined the humans on planet Earth. Once they were there, the witches got involved, keeping them at bay so that the humans could continue living under their own happy little illusions. Vampires? Werewolves? Well, those were just myths and stories that the Church told to strike the fear of God’s wrath into your heart. Right?
Wrong. Those stories are a harsh reality that humanity has barely scratched the surface of. Only a select few chosen warriors know the full truth; the history, the hate, and the horror. These men and women, slayers, have been trained to take down the damned and send them back to the fiery depths of hell, which, by the way, is worse than Dante described it.
So, the stage is set. That’s the story behind what’s going down in Detroit these days. The supernatural and those who fight them have flocked to this city, choosing it to host their epic battle; one that has been centuries in the making. The witches have allied themselves with the slayers once again, declaring a war of religious proportions against the vampires and the werewolves, who have still not come to terms with one another. The bodies are piling up on every side of this war and the trust between everyone is beginning to dwindle while the hate grows stronger.
Who will win a war that’s been going on since before the dawn of religion? There is no end in sight, but all we know for certain is it will give us heartache and it will give us blood.
