When you were a child, did you ever pretend to be someone you weren't?
A prince or a princess? Robin Hood? Maybe even a pirate or a wizard, or a
fairy? Don't be embarrassed; we've all done it. We've watched the Disney
movies over and over again and put ourselves in place of our favorite char
acters. We've all heard the classic fairytales and dreamed of the adventure
for ourselves. But we outgrew these fantasies, did we not? There came a
time in our lives when the magic died and it all seemed silly. Unlike Peter
Pan, we had to grow up, and most of us did so readily. We had to, right?
What if I told you that, for some people, the magic we strove for as kids
never died? It's real. For some people, growing up is exactly the opposite
of what we have all been led to think. Welcome to the Grimm School for
Fairytale and Fantastical Beings, Grimm's for short. Never heard of it? I'm
not surprised. Only those lucky few invited to attend know of its existence
and improbable purpose. Like its full name states, Grimm's is a school for
those with the souls of otherwise fictional characters, the ones we grew up
wishing we could be. They come to Grimm's to learn how to carry on their
roles. Whether they like it or not, this is who they are, and without them,
who knows what would happen to the stories we know and love? Human
sacrifice, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria! I'd rather not think
about it. Put reality aside and remember the "once upon a time"s and the
"happily ever after"s, just for today. It's time to pretend.
