• A world where the lines separating the worlds of Humans from Nonhumans has become hazy, and all the more dangerous.
• A world, where treachery and moles deep in political thresholds threaten the boundaries of peaceful coexistence for all.
• A city, alive with restless energy, each breath drawn by the violence of its inner sanctums, the fever of its unrest, and the hope of its peoples.
Twenty years ago, those of us that seemed to have any sort of difference from the Human race stuck to the shadows, mocking, teasing, and preying in the silent and unseen ways fashioned by our ancestors. Twenty years ago, more than half the population of the planet refused to believe that we existed beyond folklore and nightmares; we stayed to the shadows like those before us, echoing through the last dozen centuries in a quiet, deadly, and doomed pace.
That was twenty years ago.
