general appearance: To humans, Emmett is the most intimidating out of all of the Cullen children. He resembles that of a weight lifter. Bella liked to put it that Emmett is a "big, scary teddy bear." He may look scary, but he's really somewhat of a softy. Emmett has short, curly black hair and dimples, which initially spiked Rosalie's interest in him.

personality: Emmet has a very open and joking personality. He speaks his mind easily, but usually it's not in a spiteful way. He's friendly and loves hunting. He can find excitement in any sort of challenge, varying from who can hold their eyes open the longest without blinking to who can run the fastest. 

He adores technology, especially in the entertainment field. Overall, his personality is slightly old fashioned. He would do anything for pretty much anyone no matter what the long cause may be.   

Rarely, if something drastic were to happen that would effect his loved ones in some way, shape or form, Emmett would go into instant protective mode. Since he could literally destroy anything in his path, any threat to him will have no chance of surviving. He isn't always just a huggable teddy bear, he could be vicious, get him angry and you may find out just how vicious he can get.

history: Emmett was the youngest of four children; he was his mother's last chance for a girl. For this reason, his older brothers teasingly called him Emily. Being one of four boys, Emmett grew up in a competitive and active environment. The children often went outdoors together, often just running around the family's decent sized property or going hunting.

However, one day in 1935 when Emmett went out hunting, a bear attacked and he was incapable of escape. Emmett thought he was surely done for when an 'angel' appeared. He was dazed by her presence and the extreme pain he was in. Emmett feared she would leave, but thankfully she didn't. The next three days Emmett went through hell, but with the presence of the 'angel' as he slipped in and out of consciousness, it was bearable.

After it was over, the 'angel' told Emmett her name was Rosalie, and she was anything but an angel. That she was a vampire just like him. It didn't shock Emmett at all, which triggered their relationship. Almost a year later they got married. 

Occasionally Emmett and Rosalie go live on their own as a newlywed couple and, since it's what Rosalie wants, Emmett surprises the love of his life with another wedding every so many years.
