The streets of Voltera were just heating up as the night graced it’s presence on the city. Skye watched from her window as some sort of street parade was going on. She was debating whether to leave the comforts of her room or to go out and observe. She had been fed so the thirst wasn’t bugging her but she never knew when it would come back. That was one of her more fatal flaws, she still felt her newborn thirst from time to time. She looked at her reflection in the armoire and stared at her own blood red eyes. She ran one of her hands through her hair before picking up two of her favourite necklaces and putting them on. Skye didn’t want to hang around waiting for the next Guard to say her name, her real name, and her temper to go off.
Annette was the name her parents gave her. It’s what they called her every time they smacked her for not being a proper lady, for not being pretty enough, for not being perfect. Skye almost wanted to ask them what they thought of her now. She was physically flawless, not even her petit body showed any signs of her previous abuse. Now Skye was just as cold as her personality with a killer instinct to boot. Skye wondered just for a moment, if she could get rid of her own power for half an hour if she could be normal for half an hour. But that meant making herself vulnerable and how she treated the guards around here a lot of them would want to rip her head off in a literal sense.
Skye ripped her eyes away from her reflection just to stare out her window again. There was so much life in the City and she could hear every pulse vibrating through all the humans. She twisted the ring on her finger a few times before she eventually decided just stay in. She couldn’t handle all the beating hearts down there right now and she could feel the raw edges of her throat start to burn. Skye sat down on the couch in her room before picking up her stereo remote and turning it on. She could hear footsteps coming down the hall to her room. She glanced at her door and the few dings that were already in it from her throwing things at it.
Skye didn’t even remember why she had her door replaced, someone would be going through it by the end of the week anyways. ”What do you want?”[/color] She asked blatantly and loud enough for whoever was staling on the other side of her door to hear. Annette Skye was blint and ruthless and didn’t have very much patience in her, but she did not want to have to replace her door so soon in the week.
